Bio

Niall became our first signing of the summer in May 2023 when he agreed to make the move to Ewood Park as a free agent.

The 24-year-old, who officially joined from Plymouth Argyle on July 1st, put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal at the club through to June 2027, with the option of an extra 12 months.

Ennis started his career at Wolves, featuring once in an FA Cup triumph over Shrewsbury Town, where he also spent time on loan during the 2017-18 season.

Further loan spells with Doncaster Rovers and Burton Albion followed, before the pacey and versatile attacker joined Plymouth Argyle in January 2021.

Scoring on his Home Park debut in a 2-2 draw against Accrington Stanley, Ennis would go on to net six times during the second half of the 2021-22 season.

The 2022-23 campaign would prove to be the talented team-player’s most productive campaign to date, as the forward fired Plymouth to promotion to the Championship.

Ennis scored 14 goals in all competitions, including three in Plymouth’s final four league fixtures, as the Pilgrims secured the League One title with a remarkable 101 points.

A player who possesses strength, speed, energy and enthusiasm, Ennis was one of the country’s top talents as a teenager and has represented England at youth levels from Under-16s to Under-19s.
