Scott Wharton and Ryan Hedges have both been included in the Sky Bet Championship's Team of Midweek following their impressive displays in the win over Sunderland on Tuesday night.

After Ben Brereton Diaz opened the scoring against the Black Cats, the pair combined for the second goal in the 2-0 win, with Wharton glancing home Hedges' excellent delivery from a free kick.

The Welshman nearly did get a goal of his own with the final kick of the encounter, only to see his long-range effort from the centre circle clip Anthony Patterson's left-hand post and bounce wide.

Nevertheless, the victory was the fourth successive home triumph for Jon Dahl Tomasson's men, with the win following on from three-point hauls over Watford, Millwall and Rotherham United, with Rovers moving into the automatic promotion spots in the second tier.
