Teenage forward Mitchel Candlin joined Rovers on deadline say in the summer of 2018, arriving on an initial loan deal from League One side Walsall.
The youngster, who came through the Saddlers' youth system, has made nine first team appearances for the high-flying League One club.
Candlin played five games during the 2016-17 campaign - making his full debut against MK Dons on the final day of the season, aged just 16.
He also helped the Saddlers' development squad win the Walsall Senior Cup, scoring a brace in the 4-3 semi-final victory over Wolverhampton Casuals.
The Stafford-born frontman signed his first professional contract in August 2017, before playing a further four first team games for Walsall last season.
Candlin is expected to initially link up with Damien Johnson's Under-23s, as he attempts to force his way into manager Tony Mowbray's senior squad.
