Raya joined Rovers from Barcelona-based club UE Cornella in July 2012, quickly progressing through the ranks at Rovers from the Academy and development squad to be a regular member of the first team.

After a strong start to the 2014-15 season, that September saw the keeper gain senior experience on loan at Conference side Southport, with the Spaniard making a huge impression at Haig Avenue.

Raya's final game for the Sandgrounders was a memorable one as he pulled off a string of fine saves as Southport performed superbly in a 1-0 FA Cup third round away loss to Championship side Derby County.

The beginning of April then saw Raya make his first senior start in a Rovers shirt. Marking it with a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over Leeds United at Elland Road, before making his Ewood Park debut in the final game of the 2014-15 campaign in a 3-2 win for Rovers over Ipswich Town.

After a handful of first team appearances at the start of the 2015-16 season, Raya continued to provide excellent competition to fellow keeper Jason Steele.

An injury to Steele towards the end of the 2016-17 campaign saw the young Spaniard back in the starting XI, performing impressively the last five games in conceding just two goals.
