A classy left-footed midfielder with a great delivery from set-plays, Joe has been a regular figure ever since making the step up to the Under-23s.

A former Moorland school pupil, Grayson also showed his versatility by ending the season with several composed appearances in the centre of defence.

Grayson made his first team debut in the Carabao Cup against Lincoln City in August 2018, playing the full 90 minutes.

Grayson's game time resulted in him being a part in only the third father and son to have represented the club, with dad Simon appearing 40 times for us between 1999 and 2002.

The Graysons join esteemed company in becoming the first father and son in 89 years to represent the club, with the Cromptons and the Forrests being the others to have played in the blue-and-white.

In January 2019, Joe made a move to League Two outfit Grimsby Town until the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

Grayson scored two goals in total for the Mariners during his time at Blundell Park before returning to Ewood Park at the end of the campaign.

An injury-hit 2019-20 hampered Grayson, with a hamstring injury keeping him out for almost a year prior to returning to action for the Under-23s in late 2020.

Back to full fitness, on 1st February 2021 the 21-year-old linked up with Oxford United on loan until the end of the season.
