A tall, central defender who has the ability to play anywhere across the back line, or even in the centre of midfield.
Hayden had a mixed start as a first year at Rovers last year, but grew stronger as the season wore on to end the campaign as a regular for the Under-18s with 11 appearances and one goal.
Now in his second year, he'll be eager to cement a place in the Academy starting XI with the aim of moving up to the Under-23s having featured for them this pre-season.
Carter was previously on the books at Manchester City before linking up with Rovers in 2014.
