Bio

The defender made the move to Rovers in August 2022 for an undisclosed fee from Coventry City.

The Scotland Under-21 international started his career at Reading, but gained his first taste of senior football during loan spells with Dagenham & Redbridge, Portsmouth and Aldershot Town.

He joined Coventry in 2017 and helped the Sky Blues earn promotion to League One in his first season with the club, starting the play-off final victory over Exeter City at Wembley in May 2018.

Coventry’s Player of the Season in 2018-19, during which he started 40 games, Hyam helped Mark Robins’ side secure a second promotion in three years when the Sky Blues lifted the League One title in 2019-20.

The step up to the Championship proved a smooth one for Hyam, who started 43 of Coventry’s 46 league games during the 2020-21 season, and he remained a key figure in the Sky Blues side last season, making a further 41 league starts, including playing in both dramatic draws against Rovers.

Hyam made 192 appearances in total for Coventry during his stay with the Sky Blues.

The 27-year-old's debut campaign at Ewood Park was a memorable one, with the defender appearing 42 times in all competitions in 2022-23, getting a first call-up to the Scotland senior squad and scooping the Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year gongs at the club’s End of Season Awards.

In the summer of 2023, Dom made his Scotland debut when he appeared as a late substitute in the Tartan Army's win against Norway.
