Rovers are saddened to learn that former player George Hudson has passed away, aged 83.

Born in Manchester, the centre forward started his career with Rovers, making four first team appearances and scoring one goal – in a 3-1 victory over Luton Town at Ewood Park – during the 1958-59 season.

He joined Accrington Stanley in 1960, before spells with Peterborough United, Coventry City, Northampton Town, Tranmere Rovers and Altrincham, before hanging up his boots and returning to Manchester, where he worked in different factories.

Everyone at Blackburn Rovers wishes to send their sincere condolences to George’s family and friends at this difficult time.
