Goalkeeper Fran Stenson spoke of her delight at re-joining Rovers on a season-long loan, in order to get more minutes under her belt.
The 18-year-old came on a short-term loan deal from Manchester City during last season, helping Rovers gain promotion to the Championship.
Now she’s back, this time on loan from Arsenal, and determined to help the team push up the table.
“It’s really good to be back,” Stenson said.
“It’s good to get loads of game time and try to help the team to stay in the league. We want to push ourselves even harder to build on last season.
“It does help knowing the girls from the end of last season. They’re all really nice people who are good to be around.”
The Arsenal loanee made her second Rovers debut in the 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa.
And she earned plenty of plaudits for her display between the sticks, pulling off some brilliant saves to keep Rovers in the game at Villa Park.
“It was pretty tough out there but I think it shows where we can be. I don’t think we’re too far away from them to be honest, especially in the second-half.
“As soon as we got the goal we looked to get another one but it’s just that confidence we’ve got moving forward.
“It amazing to play here at Villa Park. It’s not every day you get to do this, it’s really good. Hopefully we can do this more in the future.”
You can see Fran in action on Sunday 15th September, when Rovers entertain Sheffield United at Bamber Bridge, 2pm.
