Rovers Under-23s will hope to make it back-to-back wins in Premier League 2 when they travel to Derby County tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon.

Billy Barr’s side defeated Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 on Monday night and they will hope to produce a repeat performance at Derby County’s Football Academy, kick-off 2pm.

Dominic Samuel scored a hat-trick in the success over Spurs and could lead the line for the development squad once again.

The striker made his long-awaited return for Rovers’ first team in the 2-1 defeat to Luton Town at Ewood Park earlier today, coming on for the final 15 minutes, but he could be handed the opportunity to get further match minutes under his belt against the Rams.

Jacob Davenport, who is also working his way back to full fitness after a lengthy lay-off, is again expected to start, and he could be joined in the starting line-up by the likes of Ryan Nyambe, Harry Chapman, Joe Grayson and Joe Rankin-Costello, who have all featured for the first team this season.

Rovers currently sit eighth in the PL2 table, with seven points from their opening six games, whilst Derby are fourth with 11 points, having beaten Manchester City 2-0 last time out.

Last season, Rovers kicked off the 2018-19 campaign with a 2-2 draw away to Derby, thanks to goals from Stefan Mols and Hayden Carter, before losing the reverse fixture 3-1 at the LFA County Ground early in the New Year.
