Rovers Ladies’ Development Team have been handed an away draw against Chorley Women in the Second Round of the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Lancashire FA Challenge Cup.

The game is scheduled to take place on Sunday 20th October, 2pm.

The Blues received a bye in the First Round Proper, while The Magpies beat Morecambe 2-0.

Rovers are the current holders having beaten Fylde Ladies 2-0 in last season’s Final.

But it will be the Development team who are tasked with bringing home the trophy once more, following the Ladies’ promotion to the Women’s Championship.

Ellie Cash’s side kicked off their league season on Sunday, beating Bradford City Women 6-0 away from home.

Carra Jones and Emily Walton both bagged a brace, while Megan Shandly and Issy Pacitto were also on the scoresheet.

That followed on from the Reserve League Cup victory over Stockport County, thanks to a sole goal from Jones.

Next up for the Development Team is Sunday’s league derby at home to Burnley, 2pm.
