Experienced goalkeeper Danielle Hill has backed Rovers to turn their season around after a tough start to their first Women’s Championship campaign.

Lewes and London Bees both took maximum points from Gemma Donnelly’s side, but Rovers’ vice captain knows it’s very early days in the season.

The Blues have had a weekend without a fixture, and are now preparing for Sunday’s trip to Aston Villa following the international break.

And the former Everton and England stopper believes it’s come at a good time.

“It’s a nice chance for us to reflect on the last two games, get players back in that were injured or away and just get two good weeks of training under our belts and go again.

“We’re trying to break the season down into little bitesize pieces. That first little bit’s gone, we’re moving into the second one and we need to be raring to go again.”

“No one is saying this is the end of our season.

“We’ve had two games – our furthest away trip and then our first home game, where we haven’t had our full strength squad, so everyone should be pleased.”
