Rovers Ladies travel to Villa Park this afternoon for their FA Women’s Championship fixture against Aston Villa.

The Blues are looking for their first win of the season to kickstart the campaign.

Here’s our guide to the game…

It’s a 12pm kick-off on Sunday 8th September at Villa Park.

Rovers were narrowly beaten 1-0 by London Bees in their first home game in the second tier.

Nikita Whinnett’s 40th minute strike for the visitors was the difference between the two sides.

Villa have started the season strongly, winning both of their opening two games 3-2.

The Villians came from two goals down against Sheffield United to win before also taking three points from the trip to London City Lionesses.

Gemma Davies’ side have strengthened over the summer as they look to reach the WSL for the first time in their history.

Danielle Whitham and Fran Stenson are in contention to feature at Villa following the completion of their signings this week.

Rhema Lord-Mears is also in-line to make her competitive debut for the club.

Captain Saffron Jordan returns to the team after missing the defeat to London Bees.

But Natasha Flint remains injured after taking a knock against Lewes. The striker is not expected to return for a few weeks.

Lauren Thomas is sidelined with a broken collarbone, while Sophie Charlton is out after picking up a knock.

Tickets are available to buy on the gate at Villa Park. They are priced at £7 for adults and £3 for concessions.
