The nominations for the Player of the Season categories at the 2019 Ladbrokes Northwest Football Awards have been announced – and voting is now live.

Danny Graham is in the running for the Championship award after an impressive 2018-19 season in Rovers colours.

The 34-year-old topped the supporters’ vote for Rovers’ Player of the Year award and his contribution throughout the campaign was also recognised by his team-mates, who selected him for the Players’ Player of the Year prize.

The popular striker led the line with distinction, scoring 15 league goals, including a first career hat-trick in 10 years in the 4-2 victory over Sheffield Wednesday last December.

He also reached a pair of personal milestones – netting his 50th Rovers goal in the 3-0 victory over Wigan Athletic in March and the 150th league goal of his career in the 2-1 victory at Nottingham Forest a month later.

Graham is up against Gary O'Neil (Bolton Wanderers), Ben Davies (Preston North End) and Reece James (Wigan Athletic) for the prestigious award.

A total of 17 players have made the Rising Star shortlist, including Rovers youngster Lewis Travis, who enjoyed a brilliant breakthrough campaign in the first team last term, becoming a firm fixture in the centre of midfield.

In the Women’s category, Rovers Ladies midfielder Jess Holbrook is up for the Player of the Season award, after playing an instrumental role in Rovers’ quadruple-winning campaign, whilst star striker Natasha Flint, who netted a staggering 44 goals in all competitions last season, has been nominated for the Rising Star award.

Fans can now cast their votes by clicking here, ahead of the awards, which will be announced at the 2019 Ladbrokes Northwest Football Awards at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford on Monday November 11th.

This year’s Awards marks the 12th year of recognising the best talent of the beautiful game in the region.
