Dates confirmed for Premier League Cup clashes

Rovers will take on Middlesbrough, Burnley and Crystal Palace in Group G of the competition

Dates and venues for Rovers' six Premier League Cup group games have now been confirmed.

Rovers will face home and away encounters against Middlesbrough, Burnley and Crystal Palace in Group G of the competition, which begins at the start of October.

Leyland will host two of our three home clashes, with Ewood Park being the venue for our game against Burnley in late November.

Billy Barr's side will head south to tackle Crystal Palace in the opener, before completing the group with two away tests to Bishop Auckland and then Morecambe for battles against Middlesbrough and Burnley, respectively.

Hull City, Newcastle United, Scunthorpe United, West Bromwich Albion

Aston Villa, Exeter City, Doncaster Rovers, Portsmouth

Group E
AFC Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Southampton, Stoke City

Group F
Huddersfield Town, Liverpool, Sunderland, Wigan Athletic

Group G
Rovers, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough

Group H
Birmingham City, Derby County, Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers

The teams that finish in the top two places in their respective groups will advance to the knockout phase.

Last season, Rovers reached the quarter-finals before bowing out to eventual winners Everton at Goodison Park.

Billy Barr's side have also been drawn against Newcastle United, SL Benfica and BSC Hertha in this season's Premier League International Cup.
