Gemma Donnelly is delighted to bring Fran Stenson back to the club, following last season’s successful loan spell.
The Arsenal loanee joins the Blues until the end of the campaign, which will give her a first taste of Championship football.
“I’m super pleased to have Fran back,” Donnelly commented.
“She’s such a nice girl and an abundance of quality. Just her physique alone fills the strikers with dread. She fills the goal but she’s got quality as well.
“She’s been picked up by Arsenal this year and it’s a long-term project. I believe they want her to get some real life experience.”
The 18-year-old made her first Rovers debut in last season’s victory over Huddersfield Town before keeping a clean sheet in the 5-0 away win at Stoke City.
And having been here before, Donnelly is expecting Stenson to settle in quickly.
“I’m happy that we’re able to open the door again for Fran. I was really pleased with her when she came in last season, so thanks again to City for that.
“She’s a welcome addition to our squad and she will add endless confidence to us as a team, but particularly the back four.”
“She’s got to know some of the girls already so that dynamic between the keeper and members of the team is already there for Fran.
“She’s willing to learn, she wants to work hard and most importantly she wants to play competitive football.
“Where better to play than in the Championship in a new team that is finding their feet?
“I’m sure she’s going to have plenty of action at her end of the park this season but equally that will provide her with real football situations that she can develop from.”
