Rovers fans are being advised to arrive early at Deepdale on Saturday due to increased search procedures outside the stadium.
Tony Mowbray’s side will be backed by over 4,000 Rovers supporters, who will occupy the Bill Shankly Kop, with turnstiles opening at 1.30pm.
Upon arrival at the turnstiles, additional search stewards will be deployed, along with pyrotechnic detection dogs.
In conjunction with the Police, clubs will take strong and decisive action against any fan found attempting to bring a banned item into the ground. The same will apply to supporters who choose to discharge pyrotechnics within a stadium environment, including on the concourse.
CCTV cameras at Deepdale have been upgraded and spectators found using a pyrotechnic will be identified, which will lead to a lengthy ban and potential prosecution.
In November 2017, all 72 EFL clubs signed up to a new Chairman’s Charter aimed at tackling the dangerous use of pyrotechnics and promoting a statutory three-year ban should any supporter breach the regulations.
We hope Rovers’ sizeable travelling support enjoy a great day out, whilst ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all supporters inside the stadium at all times.
