Rovers Under-16s have today travelled to Loughborough University to compete in the South American International Tournament.

The three-day tournament is run by the Premier League and also features Palmeiras (Brazil), Sport Club Internacional (Brazil) and River Plate (Argentina).

Rovers are one of nine English clubs – along with Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Fulham, Reading, Middlesbrough and Stoke City – who came through national qualifiers last month to secure their place at the event.

The tournament will provide Rovers’ youngsters with an opportunity to test themselves against top level opposition from South America and to learn from players from different cultures and backgrounds.
