International duty for Thompson

The left back is in line to feature for his country against Denmark and Romania

Rovers youngster Lewis Thompson has once again been called into Ian Barraclough's Northern Ireland Under-21s squad for two U21 Euros qualifiers.

Thompson, who has featured regularly for Billy Barr's Development squad so far this term, will hope to play a part for his country in a pair of big games, which both come away from home.

Northern Ireland's first test comes on Thursday 10th October when they face Denmark in Aalborg in their third match in Group B.

Then, on Monday 14th October, they will take on Romania at the Anghel Iordanescu Stadium in Voluntari.

Northern Ireland Under-21s currently sit fourth in Group H having picked up two points from their opening two games.

The left back will hope to continue his form in front of goal having bagged against Finland last time out.

The youngster scored the equaliser in the 1-1 draw, smashing home from close range before the break.
