Gemma Donnelly is wary of the threat Sunday’s opponents Durham will pose, but also sees the game as a huge opportunity for her players.
The Blues face a tough test away to the top of the table side this weekend, who have won all four of their league games so far this season.
In contrast, Rovers are yet to pick up their first point in the Championship.
“Durham have had yet another fantastic start to the season and should be congratulated on their fine form,” Donnelly said in her pre-match press conference.
“If there’s ever a game you have reservations about, it’s against a team that are displaying consistency.
“When you’re in need of points on the board it’s probably a team you would wish to avoid. But I imagine Durham know very little about us, particularly this season.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for the players, given the continued recruitment, for them to prove themselves against one of the top teams in this league.
“I’m excited for yet another challenging game where we can apply tactics and strategies to nullify their dominant performances.”
Rovers have not taken to the field for three weeks, with a postponement followed by the international break.
“It’s enabled us to afford some of the players to rest after little knocks but we’ve got other players who are desperate to get back out on the pitch.
“For me, it’s provided us with two really solid weeks of training and the international break has meant that a number of players have been missing.
“We’ve prepared for this game the best that we can and I feel confident of a strong performance at the weekend.”
