Derrick Williams believes that a derby encounter against Preston North End is the perfect opportunity to bounce back with the right reaction.
The 26-year-old was part of the side that suffered a narrow defeat to Birmingham City in midweek, but is hoping to help Rovers to three points this time around.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, with Williams likely to be up against a number of international colleagues, the defender says he's looking forward to locking horns with friends who will be his enemies on the day.
The likes of Sean Maguire and Alan Browne - Williams' Republic of Ireland team-mates - are both expected to play a part for Alex Neil's side, and Derrick is looking for revenge from the last meeting against PNE.
“There will be a lot of pressure on them because of the position they’re in in the league," he told iFollow Rovers after meeting supporters in the Roverstore earlier today.
“We need a reaction and it’s the perfect game to do it in. We’re looking forward to the game.
“They took six points from us last season, so we want to get a bit of revenge on them and take six points off them this season.
“They’re a good team with good players. I’m looking forward to going up against a few of my international colleagues.
“I want to win my individual battle first and foremost and hopefully help the team, that’s my goal.
“It’s been a good season on an individual note, staying healthy and injury free.
“I feel I’m performing well, but I want to take another step up, help us get more clean sheets and move up the table.”
