Rovers defender Darragh Lenihan is set for a spell on the sidelines following the injury he picked up in the game against Queens Park Rangers before the international break.
The 25-year-old was forced off midway through the second half of the 4-2 defeat and was subsequently withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad for their Euro 2020 qualifiers against Georgia and Switzerland.
Scan results have revealed that Lenihan has sustained a slight lateral knee ligament injury, as well as damage to his hamstring, which is expected to keep him out of action for the next six to eight weeks.
Meanwhile, Rovers are still awaiting definitive diagnosis from a specialist regarding the extent of Greg Cunningham’s knee injury.
The left-back, who is on a season-long loan at Ewood Park, lasted just 17 minutes at Loftus Road after injuring himself in a challenge with Rangers’ Bright Osayi-Samuel.
The 28-year-old, who has started 10 games for Rovers this season, was subsequently sent for a scan with parent club Cardiff City, who will decide where he undergoes his rehabilitation.
