Lewis Thompson is expected to take to the field this evening for Northern Ireland's Under-21s in a friendly encounter against Hungary

Thompson, who has featured regularly for Billy Barr's Development squad so far this term, will hope to play a part for his country in the first of a pair of games, which both come at home.

Northern Ireland's first test comes tonight, when they face the Hungarians in Ballinamallard in a friendly encounter at Ferney Park.

The visitors haven't won in their last six outings, with four defeats coming in that run.

The final UEFA Euro 2021 qualifier of 2019 arrives early next week as they take on Romania at the Ballymena Showground on Tuesday 19 November, kick-off 5.30pm.

It's been a tough start for Baraclough's side who have played away in three of their opening four games of qualifying, gaining two points in those games with draws against Malta and Finland.
