Tony Mowbray has made three changes to his team for today's Championship encounter against Barnsley at Ewood Park.
Darragh Lenihan returns from injury after a five-game absence and will partner Tosin Adarabioyo at the heart of the Rovers backline.
The Irishman is now fully fit after limping off against Queens Park Rangers at the start of last month with a hamstring injury.
Amari'i Bell comes back into the side at left back, whilst there's a starting berth for Joe Rothwell against one of his former employers.
Ryan Nyambe drops out after picking up an illness on international duty with Namibia, but Mowbray's boosted by Ben Brereton's return to the squad as a substitute.
One of Rothwell's old team-mates in Alex Mowatt is included in new Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber's first team as Tykes chief following his appointment earlier this week.
Ex-Rovers Academy graduate Ben Williams also starts for the first time in a month for the visitors, whilst top scorer Cauley Woodrow leads the line looking to add to his six goals so far this season.
There's a change in goal for The Tykes, with Brad Collins dropping to the bench and Samuel Radlinger coming into the team as the last line of defence.
