Derrick Williams will appear for the Republic of Ireland for the third time in his career when his country take on New Zealand this evening.

The clash against The Kiwis today comes four days before the crucial Euro 2020 showdown with Denmark.

Williams has two caps to his name, having made his international debut against France in May 2018 prior to representing his country against Georgia in the last international break.

The 26-year-old will link back up with Rovers following the game against the Danes, and he's hoping it'll be a memorable few days for his country prior to returning to East Lancashire for training prior to Barnsley's visit to Ewood Park.

“It’s massive for me and I’m delighted to be involved again," he told iFollow Rovers ahead of the double-header.

"I’m really looking forward to both of the games, especially the Denmark match.

“If we get the right result against Denmark then we’ll qualify. I want to go there, train well, work hard and hopefully get in the team.

“The aim is to get in the manager’s thoughts really and stake a claim.”

Kick-off is at 7.45pm in Dublin. Good luck, Del!
