Rovers return to action at Ewood Park with a home clash against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow afternoon [Saturday].
Tony Mowbray's men will be eager to return to winning ways following a couple of disappointing results in the last two outings at Birmingham City and Preston North End.
Mowbray has confirmed that the game will come too soon for forward pair Dominic Samuel and Ben Brereton, but the boss has been boosted by the news that German playmaker Lewis Holtby is back in contention having missed the last two games through injury.
Rovers will be hoping for a re-run of last season's encounter between the sides at Ewood, where a Danny Graham hat-trick alongside a solitary Bradley Dack strike earned a comfortable 4-2 home win in the wind and the rain.
Sheffield Wednesday come into the game in fifth place in the table following a strong start to 2019-20, despite their managerial change in the summer, with Steve Bruce departing and Garry Monk entering through the doors at Hillsborough.
The visitors have started life under Monk in excellent form, collecting an impressive 15 points from the new boss' eight Championships games in the hot seat.
Julian Borner is a doubt after missing the game against Leeds United, whilst Australian midfielder Massimo Luongo will be assessed following a troublesome knee injury.
On Luongo, Monk told the Sheffield Wednesday official website: “Massimo had a slight niggle and we’ll assess him tomorrow. If not for Blackburn, then we are confident for Swansea the week after.”
Tom Lees has been in full training this week and is expected to miss out on the clash in East Lancashire.
Kick-off is at 3pm and if you can't make the game then you can track all the action on iFollow Rovers and our social media channels.
