A goal in each half saw Rovers continue their 100% winning record in the Premier League Cup with victory over Burnley Under-23s at Ewood Park.
Dominic Samuel smashed home a wonder strike midway through the half before Jacob Davenport made it 2-0 with his second goal in as many games.
Burnley ensured it would be a nervy finish in the final 20 minutes after Rob Harker pulled a goal back, but in the end it was a fairly comfortable ending to the encounter.
Billy Barr made four changes to his team with Harry Chapman, Ben Brereton, Samuel and Ben Gladwin all starting.
It was a first outing for the latter in two years, with the 27-year-old getting 45 minutes under his belt against The Clarets.
Rovers started the better at Ewood, with the returning Brereton twice testing experienced goalkeeper Adam Ledzdins with a header and a long range strike inside the opening 15 minutes.
Soon after and Hayden Carter was in the right place to smash a Josh Benson attempt off the line after Harker had sneaked in behind the Rovers backline.
After Chapman curled just wide, Rovers got reward for their early dominance thanks to a Samuel screamer.
The forward produced a step over before dropping his shoulder and rifling beyond Legzdins and into the top corner from 20 yards.
With five minutes to go until the break the visitors went close to equalising, but Andy Fisher produced an excellent stop to tip away a dipping free kick from Benson.
Legzdins was forced to beat away an effort from Samuel just after the interval before Rovers made it 2-0 through Davenport's second in as many games.
Brereton was the orchestrator, showing decent footwork in the box to eventually find the midfielder, who flicked into the corner with his right foot to put Rovers in command.
Burnley ensure the final 20 minutes wouldn't be plain sailing for Billy Barr's charges, with a smart turn and shot from Harker beating Fisher from just inside the box.
That goal gave The Clarets confidence and after Davenport was robbed by Adam Phillips only a superb stop from Fisher denied the visitors from making it 2-2.
That man Fisher was at the rescue again to tip behind anoth Phillips effort, this time when the midfielder's free kick was destined for the bottom right-hand corner.
In the end though Rovers were professional in seeing the game out and stay top of the table with nine points from their opening three games of the group.
