Gemma Donnelly wants her side to continue their good form when they travel to Leicester City Women in the Championship on Sunday, (2pm).
The Blues go into the game unbeaten in three league games – picking up seven points from a possible nine, including two clean sheets.
And Donnelly, who was delighted with her side’s performance at home to Crystal Palace, wants to see more of the same against the Foxes this weekend.
“We’d like to maintain some momentum,” the Rovers boss said pre-match.
“We’ve done particularly well in the league of late and it has been our main priority. I always said it would be around October that we would be in a position to start picking up points.
“And particularly against a team like Leicester who have found it difficult to find any consistency, along with them being our old foes, we want to ensure that we give a strong performance so we’re in a position to take points.”
Rovers last faced Leicester in the league at the back end of the 2017-18 season. Rovers came out on top, as they did in the League Cup Final earlier that season, but it was Leicester who were promoted into the Championship.
“Leicester have changed a lot from the last time we’ve encountered them. They’ve brought in a lot of youth players that have international experience.
“One thing that will be prevalent despite their form is that it won’t phase them and playing us won’t phase them because those that are new in won’t know about the previous games.
“So I think we can expect them to be high energy and relentless in their attitude to get something from the game.”
Tickets are available to buy in advanced of the fixture, from the Leicester City website.
