A calf injury has ruled Rovers defender Derrick Williams out of the Republic of Ireland's Euro 2020 Qualifier against Denmark.
It was a night to remember for the defender last night as he started and scored for his country for the first time in the friendly victory over New Zealand at the Aviva Stadium.
He hobbled off with an injury just before the hour mark, with Republic boss Mick McCarthy ruling the 26-year-old out of contention to play a part against the Danes in Dublin next week.
"Derrick felt his calf in the second half of the game and our medical team have assessed him today," McCarthy reported after the game.
"He will go back to his club now and we wish him well. He was one of our best players on Thursday night and deserved his goal."
Derrick will no return to the Senior Training Centre for treatment ahead of next weekend's home game with Barnsley.
