We are delighted to announce that Blackburn Rovers Ladies will be playing in the FA Women’s Championship for the 2019/20 season.

The club’s application for promotion has been accepted by the FA, meaning that the Blues will play in the second tier of women’s football next season.

Rovers won the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division at a canter, with a 21-point gap to second place.

However, that did not guarantee a spot in the second tier, as previous years have shown.

Rovers also won the league in the 2017/18 and 2016/17 seasons, only to miss out on promotion after losing the play-off game two years running.

A rule change meant that Rovers would be promoted, regardless of the play-off outcome, should the club’s application be accepted.

Gemma Donnelly’s title-winning team are set to be the only North West club in the league, following Manchester United’s promotion to the Women’s Super League.

There’s still one game left for Rovers Ladies this season. They face Southern Premier Division winners Coventry United in the Championship play off at Bradford City FC, to decide the third tier ‘champion of champions’.

It’s a 3pm kick-off on Saturday 18th May. And you can roar the team on to victory at Valley Parade, with tickets priced at £5 for adults and £2.50 for concessions, available online or on the gate.

Official Rovers coach travel can also be purchased online here, priced at £10.
