Title winners Rovers Ladies take on Guiseley Vixens at Bamber Bridge on Sunday in the final league game of 2018/19.
Rovers have already played Guiseley twice this season - both away from home.
The Yorkshire side put up a good fight in Rovers’ 2-1 win in the League Cup First Round Proper, when Saffron Jordan scored both goals, before a dominant 5-0 win in March got Rovers back on track.
It followed their only league defeat of the season and again top scorer Jordan made the difference, scoring a hat-trick.
Guiseley have secured their place in the Northern Premier Division for next season, and with Rovers crowned league champions in March, Gemma Donnelly believes this may allow both teams to field experimental line-ups.
“They always prove to be a difficult team to face, but we have secured wins on both occasions,” the Rovers boss commented.
“They’re encouraging their youngsters to play a part in the closing stages. Although I think this is the last opportunity for a club in this division to try and steal any points from us.”
Her side come into the game off the back of a 9-1 win at Bradford in midweek, where five members of the development squad played their part in another five-star performance.
“After an unexpected start, we soon gathered momentum and secured our 22nd win of the season.”
The Blues were also crowned League Cup winners for the second year running last weekend, beating Crawley Wasps 3-0 in the Final at Burton Albion FC.
“What a fantastic and joyous occasion it was for everyone involved in the football club. I must thank the FA WNL for organising the fixture.
“I hope we can finish off on a high this Sunday, although I’m not sure anything can spoil the season we’ve had to date.”
You can see the league champions in action on Sunday, with tickets priced at £4 for adults and £2 for concessions. There’s free entry for One Club members.
