Rovers Ladies face Bradford City Women on Wednesday night, (7:45pm), in what is the league champions’ final away game of the season.
Rovers won the reverse fixture at Bamber Bridge 10-0 earlier in the season, with Natasha Flint scoring five goals.
But Gemma Donnelly is not getting complacent, with huge games coming up in the next few weeks.
“It was a relatively convincing win last time and we know they have struggled this season, but it’s a game after we’ve won the league and we’ve won our next focus, which was the League Cup.
“The girls are really set on finishing on a high in the league. And we’ll use it for preparation for the cup finals.
“So I don’t expect them to take their foot off the gas, which could be unfortunate for Bradford. But I do expect them to enjoy their football given the position that we’ve achieved.”
Rovers have another league game against Huddersfield on Sunday, but Donnelly has plans in place to manage the players ahead of those games.
The development team’s season finished on Sunday with the league champions beating Durham 2-1 at home.
“It was great to see them finish with a win and like us have achieved the double this season.
“My intention is to take some of the Development players to get a closer look at some of them ahead of the close of the season and in view of next season.
“I know the first-team players will wish to play too and will all want to be included in the squad.”
Tickets for the game at Eccleshill United FC are priced at £4 for adults and free for U16s. Or you can follow all the action on Twitter, @RoversLadies.
