Rovers Ladies take on Fylde Ladies in the Lancashire Women’s Challenge Cup Final on Thursday, (7:30pm), looking to win the competition for a record 13th time.

Rovers beat rivals Burnley Women 3-0 back in January to secure a place in the Final, which followed a 6-1 victory over Fleetwood Town Wrens and a 14-0 triumph against Morecambe Ladies.

Gemma Donnelly’s side lifted last year’s trophy with a 6-1 victory over Chorley Women, to underline their dominance in the competition.

Only three other teams have won the trophy in the last decade.

The Blues have beaten Fylde three times already this season – twice in the league and once in the League Cup.

And Saffron Jordan, who scored a hat-trick when the two sides met last month, says the Ladies are well up for the game.

“It’s not just a County Cup Final, it’s a Derby as well, so that just motivates us in itself.

“We’ll all get up for the game. It’s going to be a battle and not one of us is going to want to lose.

“We’ve won the cup 12 times and we want the trophy again. We want to get as much silverware as possible this year.”

Tickets for the Final are priced at £5 for adults and £3 for concessions and available on the gate.
