Rovers Ladies striker Saffron Jordan has collected the National League top goalscorer award at the FA Women's Awards.
She plundered 32 league goals during the 24-game season to help Rovers earn promotion to the Championship, narrowly beating team-mate Natasha Flint to the award.
Both players were far ahead of any other goalscorer in the Northern Premier Division or Southern equivalent, underlining Rovers’ dominance in the third tier of women’s football.
Rovers’ number nine netted 46 times in all competitions, reaching the feat in 35 games.
In four seasons at the club, Jordan has scored 103 goals in 125 appearances, reaching a century of goals and appearances during this title-winning campaign.
Jordan, who couldn’t be at the awards due to her involvement in Rovers’ play off game against Coventry United on Saturday, spoke of her pride at winning the award.
“It’s pretty good. In years to come I’ll probably look back on it and take a lot of pride from it.
“But I couldn’t have done it without my team mates. The trophies matter more to me than the individual accolades.”
