Hayden Carter is determined to be the next Academy graduate to make his first team debut when the 2019-20 campaign comes around in early August.
The young defender was a constant in Damien Johnson's Lancashire Senior Cup-winning side last term, featuring in a number of positions during the campaign.
And having watched the likes of Dan Butterworth, Tyler Magloire and John Buckley - all team-mates of Carter's in the Development Squad - make their first team bows last season, he's eager to be next in line.
“It’s good to see the youngsters given a go in the first team," he admitted.
"We know the gaffer will give opportunities and that’s the aim for us all.
“Seeing the likes of Dan, Bucko and Tyler get their chance, it makes all of us want to do the same, it drives us on even more.
“I’ll come back in the summer and see what happens. We’ve had a taste of training with the first team in the last few weeks of the season and that’s been really good for all of us.
“It’s a good time to get a rest in after a long, hard season. We’ll go away before coming back stronger in the summer ready to hit the ground running in pre-season."
