Rovers youngster Daniel Butterworth has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for April.
The 19-year-old striker helped Rovers Under-23s end the Division 1 campaign with three successive wins, scoring in all three matches against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Liverpool, as well as claiming two assists.
Butterworth also made his league debut for the club, coming on in the 2-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers at Ewood Park last month, and picked up the Young Player of the Year prize at the Disabled Supporters’ annual End of Season awards.
It is the third time this season that the exciting young forward has been shortlisted for the monthly PL2 award, having also been nominated in November and September.
The other players up for the award, which were decided by the Premier League’s Football Development Panel after PL2 club managers picked the best performance by an opposing player in each of their league matches in April, are:
Tyrese Francois (Fulham)
Curtis Jones (Liverpool)
Mason Greenwood (Manchester United)
Liam Cullen (Swansea City)
Ryan Giles (Wolves)
The winner will be announced via PL.com and @PLYouth at 9am on Tuesday May 7th.
