This season, we're introducing a new feature, bringing Rovers fans that bit closer to members of the current first-team squad.

The idea is simple: 26 questions, one for each letter of the alphabet, with subjects ranging from the players' favourite holiday destinations to the strangest things they've ever seen.

Rovers skipper Charlie Mulgrew discusses growing up in Canada, playing against Barcelona and white suits and white cotton t-shirts!

A – AWAY - What is your favourite away ground that you've played at?

The Nou Camp. I played there in the Champions League group stages two years in a row. It's a really nice stadium and it was a great experience.

B – BANTER – Who's got the best banter in the squad?

I've noticed that a few people have said me! I will have to say Dacky. He's just funny and acts daft and he's infectious with his laugh.

C – CLUB – What football team do you support?

I grew up supporting Celtic. I was brought up in Glasgow, so it's either Rangers or Celtic and I was a Celtic fan.

D – DINING – What would be your last three-course meal?

I like Indian food, so it would probably be pakora for starter, chicken tikka masala for main and hot chocolate fudge cake with ice-cream for dessert.

E – EVENINGS – A quiet night in or a night out with the lads? Why?

It depends how you're feeling. You can't beat a night out with the lads, but my missus is probably reading this, so I'm going to have to say a night in with her.

F – FOREIGN – What's your favourite holiday destination and why?

I went to Canada last summer with the family and really enjoyed it. I lived there for parts of my life when I was younger, so it was nice to go back there and see family.

G – GAME – What's been your favourite football game you've ever played in?

The game when we beat Barcelona 2-1 at home in the Champions League. It was the 125th anniversary of the club. I think they had 88% possession, but the feeling after the game was something else.

H – HOBBIES – What do you like to get up to away from football?

I like to play golf in the off season. Apart from that, just time spent with the kids. I like to watch my son play football as well and seeing how much he enjoys the game.with the missus! Other than that, I like to play Fortnite with all the boys on the PlayStation.

I – IDOL – Who was your favourite footballer as a youngster and why?

I loved John Collins when he played for Celtic. And Paolo Maldini - one of the best left footed players ever. Those two stand out for me.

J – JOBS – Have you had any other jobs aside from playing football?

I collected milk money a couple of nights for the people who delivered milk. If I didn't play football, I don't know what I would do!

K – KID – What were you like as a young boy?

I was quite quiet and quite shy as a kid. People might disagree with that - my family and my friends - but that's how I remember it.

L – LOATH – What annoys you the most and why?

My kids when they don't listen. Particularly my middle child, Jacob, who just doesn't seem to listen to a word I say! And also his reading, when he's doing his homework, gets me most stressed!

M – MUSIC – What sort of music are you into and what's your favourite ever tune?

I could shuffle my iPod with anything - there's a range of 60 years in there! From U2 to Diana Ross to Gladys Knight to Frank Sinatra to dance music and RnB. Anything!

N – NICKNAME – What's the best nickname you've come across in your footballing career?

A physio here, Craig, springs to mind. We call him Spag Bol now. It's only recent and it's not really taken off yet, but I'm trying to get that one to stick! He thought carbonara was a type of pasta and not a sauce.

O – OPTIMISM – What would you like to achieve in your career?

Promotion with Blackburn Rovers. It will take a huge effort to make that happen, but we'll be focusing all our effort and trying our best to do it.

P – PETS – Do you have any pets?

I've got a French Bulldog called Winnie.

Q – QUALITY – Who's the best player you've ever played with or against and why?

Probably Virgil van Dijk or Victor Wanyama. I played with both at Celtic and they were top class.

R – RAPID – Who's the quickest player you've played with or against?

I played with a guy called Cha Du-ri at Celtic. He was a right-back who played for South Korea and he was absolutely rapid!

S – STRANGE – What's the strangest thing you've seen in your life?

Ben Brereton turning up to a Christmas do wearing a white suit!

T – TELEVISION – What do you like to watch on the TV and why?

I watched Kevin Bridges in the bus with Dacky the other day and I love watching him. He's very funny.

U – UNKNOWN – Tell us something that people don't know about you.

I wear a white cotton t-shirt under my training top and my strip. It's got to be 100% cotton!

V – VIDEO GAMES – Do you own a games console and if so how often do you play it?

My sons play it, so I sometimes have a game of FIFA with them, but that's it. They're addicted to Fortnite and FIFA.

W – WORLD – Where would you most like to visit in your life?

I'd like to try the Maldives with the family.

X – XYLOPHONE – Can you play any musical instruments?

No, I can't. My son actually asked for a keyboard for Christmas, but I don't think he's actually touched it yet. So I might try and teach him through YouTube.

Y – YIKES – Do you have a fear of anything?

Anything happening to my family.

Z – ZODIAC – What's your star sign?

Pisces. I was born on March 6th.
