Win a flag bearer place for the Lancashire derby

Two lucky young Rovers fans are going to get the chance to set foot on the Ewood Park turf ahead of the big Lancashire derby against Preston North End – could it be your child?

Blackburn Rovers Community Trust are providing the opportunity as a competition prize for two children aged between eight and 12; a special bonus that’s on offer to mark their annual awareness fixture that takes place during the forthcoming matchday.

With one of the themes of the day being the chance to highlight how the Community Trust brings local people together to enjoy great life opportunities, they’ve joined forces with Preston North End to ensure that two junior supporters from the visiting club will accompany the two young Blackburn fans in carrying the charity’s flag on to the pitch ahead of the arrival of the two teams from the tunnel.

The competition runs until midday on Tuesday 5th March, with parents or guardians able to nominate a child to take part via the Community Trust’s Facebook page.

The winners will receive a pair of Blackburn Rovers Community Trust Family Stand tickets for the game and the chance for the child aged between eight and 12 (inclusive) to carry the Community Trust flag on the to pitch.

Winners will need to supply their own current full Blackburn Rovers strip (home, away or goalkeeper) to wear for the occasion, so to enter, all you need to do is reply to the competition thread by posting a photo of your child in their 2018/19 season kit, with no further details or comments to identify the child required at this stage. After the closing date, we’ll ask some very special Rovers representatives to judge their two favourite photos in order to select the lucky winners.

You can visit the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust Facebook page by visiting www.facebook.com/BRFCTrust - good luck to all who enter!

Blackburn Rovers Community Trust are also hoping to use next Saturday’s awareness fixture to raise funds to help set up our new Blackburn Rovers mixed disability football teams.

We are urging all supporters to bring an extra £1 to the game if possible to support the initiative, with bucket collectors stationed around the ground in the hope of receiving any kind donations you are able to make towards the cause.

Competition terms and conditions: The competition is in no way connected to Facebook and/or its affiliates.

There are to be two prizes, both consisting of a pair of Blackburn Rovers Community Trust Family Stand tickets for the home fixture against Preston North End on Saturday 9th March (midday kick-off) and the chance for their nominated child to carry the BRCT flag on to the Ewood Park pitch prior to kick-off.

The nominated flag bearers must be between the ages of eight and 12 (inclusive) on the day of the game and be dressed in a full 2018/19 season Blackburn Rovers kit (home, away or goalkeeper).

The closing date for entries is midday on Tuesday 5th March, with the winners to be chosen and contacted via Facebook with 24 hours.

There is no cash alternative to the prize. Blackburn Rovers Community Trust reserve the right to amend the arrangements relating to the flag bearer prize if conditions make the concept unsuitable or unsafe on the day of the game.

The prize has been arranged in accordance with the club and Community Trust’s standard safeguarding procedures.
