Tony Mowbray was a happy man after Rovers put Wigan Athletic to the sword with a comprehensive performance and result against the Latics at Ewood Park.
Danny Graham was at the double before Bradley Dack finished off a fine display in the 3-0 win on Tuesday evening.
The three points got Rovers back on track with a victory, to leave Wigan in the mire towards the bottom of the division.
And Mowbray was beaming when giving his assessment to iFollow Rovers after the encounter against Paul Cook's outfit.
“I think we were slightly nervous early on," the boss said.
“I was happy with the resilience of the team. I sensed they were quiet before the game, there was a nervousness about it, which is sometimes a good thing. It showed me their focus and concentration was right at it.
“We spoke about the reverse fixture and how we got bullied a little bit. The team were ready for this game. We had a few problems with the centre halves all missing.
“I thought the big players stood up. We were toying with giving Danny Graham a break in this middle game but the right decision was made.
“Bradley got his goal and I’m delighted for him, I thought [Elliott] Bennett was amazing the way he’s able to able to play on the right and the left, he’ll play anywhere, but he sets the tone of what’s expected.
“I’m happy with the points total, let’s win another game or two, and like Tyler [Magloire], there are one or two more who I would like to give a game to and drop them in to the team and see how they got on.”
