Rovers will take on either Everton or Sunderland in the quarter-final stage of the Premier League Cup.

The draw took place earlier today, and it will be another away trip for Rovers in the competition, having comprehensively beat Stoke City 4-1 on the road in the last round.

A date and time for Everton to take on Sunderland is yet to be confirmed.

Damien Johnson's side had a couple of battles with Everton earlier in the competition, with the Toffees finishing as winners in the group stage, with Rovers going through in second place at the expense of Doncaster Rovers and Sheffield United.

All knockout ties are one-off matches, and if they’re level after 90 minutes they will be decided by extra-time and then penalties if necessary.

Everton or Sunderland vs Blackburn Rovers
Newcastle United vs Derby County
