Rovers Ladies are looking to get back to winning ways away to Guiseley Vixens on Tuesday night, (7:45pm).
The Blues’ 15 league game winning streak ended at Sunderland on Sunday, when they were on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline.
However, Rovers still hold a sizeable seven-point lead over the Black Cats, with three games in hand on their closest rivals.
And Donnelly is expecting her team to bounce back from that disappointment.
“The girls and us as staff will feel some benefit from the defeat. Maybe there’s a little bit of complacency in the air and it’s good for us to have a bit of a kick.
“Hopefully the second-half which proved much better will be carried forward into this game.”
“We pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and crack on with Tuesday. Hopefully it’s a better performance for 90 minutes, as opposed to 45 minutes.”
Rovers have already beaten Guiseley on their own patch this season – a 2-1 win in the League Cup thanks to Saffron Jordan’s first-half brace back in September – but are yet to play the Vixens in the league.
Tuesday’s opponents currently sit eighth in the table, with 27 points from their 17 games. They come into the game off the back of a 4-1 defeat at home to Derby County Ladies this weekend.
Sophie Charlton is in line to make her first-team debut for Rovers after a trio of impressive appearances for the Development side following her move from league rivals Fylde Ladies.
“We’re trying to provide Sophie with 90 minutes to regain her fitness levels.
"Although she has competed at this level for the last few seasons, she has difficult competition with the likes of Jess (Holbrook), Natasha (Flint) and Saffron (Jordan) taking up those particular positions that she is able to play.”
