Tony Mowbray has ruled skipper Charlie Mulgrew out of Tuesday night's clash against Wigan Athletic at Ewood Park.
Mulgrew limped off midway through the second half against Preston North End, with Amari'i Bell replacing the Scotland international.
And Mowbray has confirmed he'll have to shuffle his pack at the back after confirming the captain's absence for tomorrow night's game.
“Charlie has a grade one hamstring injury," the boss revealed to iFollow Rovers.
"He’s had a scan and won’t be ready for Tuesday, and I don’t think he’ll be ready for Saturday.
“Those things are part and parcel of football, we’ll take it on the chin and move forward, that’s why you have a squad. There will be an opportunity for somebody else.
“Central defence has been a bit of a headache for the last few weeks, to be honest. We’ve been conceding too many goals.
“We have to come up with the answers and put a team out that will be competitive, which is exactly what we’ll do."
