Rovers youngster Lewis Hardcastle has today made a permanent move to Barrow AFC.

The 20-year-old had been on loan at the National League side since early February, scoring twice in nine appearances.

A product of the Rovers Academy, Hardcastle progressed through the club's youth ranks before enjoying a successful loan spell at Premier League North side Salford City during the 2015-16 season.

The combative midfielder captained Rovers Under-23s to the Premier League 2 Division 2 title last season, before spending the first half of the current campaign on loan at League Two side Port Vale, where he made nine appearances in all competitions, before being recalled in January.

Rovers would like to wish Lewis well in his future career.
