We are delighted to announce that young striker Dan Butterworth has signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract at the club.
The long-term deal will keep him at Ewood Park until June 2022.
Butterworth has progressed through Rovers’ youth teams after joining the club from Manchester United during the 2015-16 season.
He has been a mainstay in Damien Johnson’s successful Under-23s squad that won promotion from Premier League 2 Division 2 last season.
The young forward has twice been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award this campaign.
The teenage starlet also scored a superb solo strike in Rovers’ Lancashire Senior Cup semi-final victory over Accrington Stanley.
“It’s good to finally get it done and dusted so I can focus on my football,” said the 19 year-old.
“I love it here at Rovers, everything about the place. Everyone’s so close together.”
Butterworth made his first-team debut in the League Cup victory over Lincoln City earlier this season and also made an appearance in the next round of the competition, away at AFC Bournemouth.
