Tony Mowbray has revealed that captain Charlie Mulgrew is a doubt for Tuesday night's home clash against Wigan Athletic.
The skipper limped off midway through the second half in the weekend clash against Preston North End.
And speaking to iFollow Rovers after the game, the boss has a feeling that the 33-year-old will be out of action for the next couple of games.
“He's got his hamstring strapped up," Mowbray diagnosed when asked about Mulgrew's setback.
“The schedule has been intense, and I'd suggest that Charlie Mulgrew has felt that pressure of my tongue in recent weeks.
“I've been saying 'come on, you're 6'4', you have to win headers, teams are throwing balls into our box, where are you?'
“So I think his body has been tense, but I thought he was really good today, he was dominant, he headed the ball, attacked the ball and played forward.
“Unfortunately, maybe because of the anxiety of his manager moaning at him, he's been up tight and his hamstring has strained. That's how it looks to me," he added.
“We'll see, hopefully the lay-off isn't that long.”
