Rovers defender Ryan Nyambe made a winning start to his international career after marking his Namibia debut with a victory at the weekend.
In a friendly clash against Ghana in preparation for the African Cup of Nations which takes place later this month, Namibia triumphed against one of the tournament favourites.
Up against Premier League stars such as Crystal Palace's Jordan Ayew and Newcastle United's Christian Atsu, Ricardo Mannetti's Brave Warriors earned the win thanks to Manfred Starke's first half strike.
Nyambe, who has made 97 appearances for Rovers, linked up with his country for the Training Camp in the United Arab Emirates and Tunisia at the end of May.
It's all good training before their AFCON campaign begins against Morocco on June 23rd, South Africa on June 28th and their final group game against Ivory Coast on July 1st.
Speaking to the Namibia Football Association last month, Nyambe was understandably delighted to link up with the Brave Warriors.
“I’m pleased to finally join the family," he said.
"It has always been coming, I have been thinking about it for a while and now I am ready and raring to go! I feel honoured to play for my country and excited to meet the squad soon.
“Expect me to give all in every game and hopefully I can make an impact that will help the team succeed. I would bring to the team the ability to defend and energy as a full back”.
