Rovers return to action later this weekend and it's a trip north of the border to take on Rangers at Ibrox Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Rovers will be looking to continue their 100% record in pre-season so far, and come into the game on the back of wins away at Barrow and League Two outfit Mansfield Town.

Rangers, meanwhile, secured their passage to the next round of the Europa League by beating Gibraltarian side St Joseph's at Ibrox on Friday night.

Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe hit braces for the club in a 6-0 win, with Rangers progressing 10-0 on aggregate.

It'll be a return to Glasgow for both Tony Mowbray and Charlie Mulgrew, who both played for Rangers' arch-rivals Celtic, with the boss going on to also manage The Hoops.

Mowbray has confirmed that experienced trio Corry Evans, Elliott Bennett and Danny Graham will all be part of the travelling contingent that head north of the border.

Stewart Downing is likely to be up against a manager who he was a team-mate of in the form of Gers chief Steven Gerrard. The pair played together over the years for England, whilst Downing was a Liverpool team-mate of Gerrard's during his two years at Anfield.

Gerrard is likely to include a strong core of English players in his squad, with the likes of captain James Tavernier - a former team-mate of Richie Smallwood's at Rotherham United - and Joe Aribo expected to play at Ibrox.

Another who could play a part is Graham Dorrans. The 32-year-old midfielder was brought to English football in the summer of 2008 by Mowbray, who signed the playmaker for West Bromwich Albion from Livingston.

Jordan Jones is another who has links to Mowbray, with the boss giving the winger his professional debut during their time at Middlesbrough, where the Northern Ireland international was a team-mate of both Smallwood and Danny Graham.

Kick-off on Sunday is at 3pm, and if you can't make the game then you can follow all the action across our social media accounts.

It has been confirmed that Rovers will be playing in their new away kit for the encounter.
