Sam Hart's played almost every single minute of pre-season so far and he's keen to keep the game time coming as he looks to impress Tony Mowbray.
The left back, who spent last season away on loan from Ewood Park at League One sides Rochdale and Southend United, has impressed playing in his role, with both Derrick Williams and Amari'i Bell unavailable due to injury.
The 22-year-old chalked up another 90 minutes in last night's 3-1 away win against Mansfield Town, and is delighted to continue his run of games in pre-season.
“Injuries in the squad have forced me to play back-to-back 90 minutes, but it’s about fitness at this stage of pre-season and getting minutes under the belt," he told reporters after the game at Field Mill.
“I feel I’ve done well these last couple of weeks so hope I’m in the manager’s thoughts.
“I’ve gained a lot of experience through the last couple of loan spells away at Rochdale and Southend. My focus now is on Rovers, to see what happens and go from there.
“I loved it at Southend and matured a lot. A lot of things changed for me moving down there, five hours away from home.
“I loved the football side of things there, playing regular football, week in, week out. I had a week back at Rovers after my loan at Rochdale and got an extra year after showing what I could do," he reflected.
“We’re taking things day by day. Come the start of the season I’ll have a chat with the gaffer and whatever happens from there, happens."
