Manager Tony Mowbray believes bubbly new signing Bradley Johnson will quickly settle into the Rovers squad.
Johnson, who has signed a two-year deal with the club, is close friends with new Rovers team-mate Elliott Bennett after the midfield duo both joined Norwich City in the summer of 2011.
One of the most popular figures in the Rovers dressing room, Bennett played a key role in ensuring pal Johnson made the move to Ewood Park after cancelling his contract at Derby County.
Mowbray has often stated how important it is to have the right characters, as well as talent, at the club and he is looking forward to getting to know new boy Johnson as a person, as well as a player.
"I think that was part of his thinking a little bit,” said the Rovers boss, when asked about Johnson’s friendship with several players within the squad.
"He knows quite a few of the lads, he's very close with Elliott and if his character is up there like Elliott Bennett's - the personality that he brings to his work - then we've got ourselves a real diamond.
"I'm looking forward to working with him. You don't know until you work day-in day-out with them, the good days and the bad days, the days you bring them off and the days when you leave them out.
"Let's see how he reacts and let's see what personality he is, but I'm looking forward to him enjoying his football and helping the team be successful."
