Rovers manager Tony Mowbray is delighted to have secured the services of midfield powerhouse Bradley Johnson.
The 32-year-old joined the club this morning on a two-year deal after cancelling his contract with Derby County.
Johnson has played over 500 games throughout his career and helped Norwich City secure promotion to the Premier League in 2014-15.
Mowbray has been a long-term admirer of the midfielder and believes his ability on the ball and knowledge of the Championship will be major assets to Rovers in the upcoming campaign.
"I'm delighted," said the Rovers boss.
"Bradley brings experience and quality. He's had a good career at the top end of the Championship, with Leeds and Norwich and Derby.
"We've always liked him. I thought he was the best player on the pitch at Pride Park last season. He just sat in midfield and bossed the game really.
"He's very physically strong, he's a good passer of the ball and he makes good decisions with the football, so when the opportunity came our way we got in touch and the deal happened pretty quickly, which we were delighted about."
